WELCOME TO NORTHMONT NJROTC!
A hearty welcome goes out to the cadets and their parents as you have now joined the Northmont NJROTC family. We look forward to working with your sons and daughters, helping them continue to become responsible young adults.
The goal of our program is to help build patriotic citizens who are mindful of their duty to serve their community and their nation, without the requirement to join the military after high school. Our unit has 8 different varsity-level competition teams. We have been a nationally ranked high school ( #14 out of 629 schools) for SIX consecutive years, and hope to keep up this title with the help of our new NS1’s (first-year NJROTC cadets). Our unit offers a number of opportunities for cadets to participate in community service as well as numerous chances throughout the year to march in parades and compete in drill competitions all over the nation. Our accomplished cadets may even be selected to attend the highly competitive leadership camps held in Illinois, West Virginia and Ohio during the summer.
NEW STAFF SET FOR LARGEST CLASS EVER
The Northmont Navy Junior ROTC unit staff has hit the deckplates running for the 2009-2010 school year. Commanding Officer (CO) Jordan Eubanks, Executive Officer (XO) Krissi Dillon, Company Master Chief (CMC) Jacque Long, Operations Officer (OpsO) Bethany Fisher, Training Officer (TO) Melanie Collins and the rest of the staff are ready to welcome next year's incoming NS1s and lead the largest group of cadets the unit has had to date with over 130 cadets. The many activities the cadets are slated to participate in during the coming year will mean more opportunities for all to develop their leadership skills.
