Freshman Orientation

Northmont NJROTC held its 6th annual NS1 (New Cadet) Orientation Aug 11 - 13 . Over 30 cadets were involved in drill and ceremonies, athletics, academics and a final competition, where they put their new skills to the test in a "knock-out" drill competition.  The winning cadets, Chrissy Corcoran and Corey Zwisler, carried the banner at our recent drill demonstration at the Dayton Dragons' Armed Forces Day at Fifth-Third Field.  Job well done to our senior staff and our newest cadets!

Armed Exhibition at Dragons Game
The following pictures are from the Armed Exhibition Drill Team's drill performance at the Dayton Dragons baseball game honoring the military as hometown heroes.  Thanks go out to the Dragons for allowing us to perform and providing these great pics!
Unit Picnic The annual Northmont NJROTC Unit Picnic, held the afternoon of Saturday, September 12, was a huge success! Over 190 Cadets and their families joined us at Englewood Reserve Metropark for food, fun, and fellowship. The side dishes and desserts provided by the cadets were delicious.  The highlight of the event was the Tug-of-War; the cadets handily defeated the parents in their annual struggle of brains versus brawn.
Elvis Show Saturday, September 19, Northmont NJROTC and Operation Show Our Love co-sponsored the Elvis Dinner Show at the Brookville VFW. The place was packed with supporters, who bid on numerous baskets (assembled by Fundraising Officer Kelly Lewis and her team); ate dinner provided by Pizza Hut; and then enjoyed the live entertainment provided by Elvis.
Homecoming Parade More than 90 Northmont NJROTC cadets participated in NHS Homecoming events the last weekend of September. A majority of our cadets marched through Thursday night's downpour to lead the Homecoming parade through Englewood.
Area Three
Northmont High School’s NJROTC unit continued its dominance of the 2009-10 drill season, overpowering 19 other teams from Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and West Virginia to defend its Area 3 East crown in Grove City, Ohio, March 12-13, 2010.
